Guest Column: Riding the New TIME Scylon Through Girona and Andorra by Nadezhda Pavlova

TIME is a legendary bike brand that has been at the forefront of cycling innovation and excellence for many years. The latest bikes from this iconic brand still carries that renowned style and quality. It’s one of those bike brands that all you need to say is “My bike is a TIME", and everyone knows what you mean: performance, style and high quality engineering. A work of art and engineering mastery on two wheels.

A few weeks ago, I received my new TIME Scylon, and since then, I’ve tested it on some of the most iconic routes in Girona and Andorra - rolling through flats, attacking climbs, and descending technical terrain. From the very first ride, it was clear to me: this bike delivers. The Scylon is a premium, high-performance frame; but what justifies the price isn’t branding or hype - it’s the engineering excellence and the craftsmanship behind it.

TIME is unique in the cycling world. Instead of relying on factory-cut carbon sheets, TIME uses its own Braided Carbon Structure (BCS) process, weaving their carbon fibers in-house to ensure exact control over stiffness, weight distribution, and compliance. Combined with Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), this technique produces a frame that feels incredibly precise, responsive, and smooth. This meticulous method is usually reserved for aerospace or high-end automotive applications, but TIME has brought it to cycling with stunning results. The frame created through this process is stronger and more efficient, and allows TIME to create an aero focused frame that’s ready to race.

Each frame is handmade in Europe, not mass-produced in Asia, and that artisan-level production means a manufacturing time of approximately 6–8 weeks, depending on size and color. While this may be longer than off-the-shelf brands, it reflects the care and complexity behind every TIME frame. Remember, this is a timeless piece of cycling art!

The Scylon is available in four refined color options: Nude, Pearl White, Brilliant Red, and Brilliant Purple. Each color has a distinct personality, but every option shares the same race-tuned DNA under the paint.

In terms of geometry, the Scylon a bit more aggressive and aerodynamic than TIME’s Alpe d’Huez line. It's a performance-focused platform that cuts through the wind on flat roads yet climbs confidently thanks to its stiffness-to-weight ratio. Yes, it’s a bike that feels the need… the need for speed! I’m currently riding it in Italy, in the Dolomites, and even in these early days, I’m feeling ready to race on my new bike!

TIME bikes are available through a growing network of authorized distributors and retailers worldwide, and they also offer direct global shipping through their website. Whether you're in Europe, North America, or Asia, you can order a TIME frame with confidence. To top it off, TIME offers a lifetime warranty on all of their frames, standing behind their build quality and long-term durability—a rare commitment in the high-end road bike world.

The Scylon is not just a bike—it’s a statement. It’s for riders who value craftsmanship, innovation, excellence and an intuitive ride that speaks for itself. After a few weeks in Girona and Andorra, I can honestly say: it was worth the wait. After all, what’s a little TIME, when you get to ride one of the best road bikes in the world?!
